A yellow denim skirt by junya watanabe comme des garcons (SS2001, I think). Perhaps misleading to describe it as a 'yellow denim skirt' when only the front is (the back is a 'multicolour, geometric printed satin skirt'), but to some extent (at least according to conventional wisdom) the front is what the thing is? And hence the thing is a 'yellow denim skirt with satin back'. Certainly front is yellow denim, somewhat substantial to boot, and has jean-style details and finishing (fly front, curved, jean style slash pockets, rivets, etc). And indeed, the back is a multicolour (purple, white, pink, red, orange) geometric printed satin, and has two angled patch pockets and a vent at the hem for movement.
Contrast in weight of front and back materials quite interesting, and also like the hints of each you get when looking at the other (edge of back snakes around a little when viewed from front, waistband and belt loops made in denim at the back).
The skirt is in good condition, with several faint marks on the front near the hem (see pictures - frankly hard to see but it's the pictures with fingers pointing to some small, very slightly darker areas of skirt).
